Labor Day is a holiday to honor hard working Americans, and small business owners are among the hardest workers around, working countless hours and taking on many roles to get the job done. We admire and celebrate their hard work and perseverance!

Entrepreneurial father-son duo Jose Antonio and Edinson Arenas, owners of Azteca Mexican Candy, were doing well importing traditional Mexican candy, but saw costs rising. They knew they were on to something - and to ensure the company continued to grow, they made the risky decision to learn how to manufacture the candy themselves.

After many trips to Mexico, lots of hard work, business guidance and a loan from LiftFund to purchase manufacturing equipment and create jobs, their business grew. Today, they have hired six employees and taken steps to ensure Azteca Mexican Candy remains a viable business, like participating in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.

We know small business owners are proud to be job creators, and they couldn't have done it without supporters like you.

Thank you for believing in our mission! It takes strong partnerships, committed donors and passionate mentors to make a difference in an entrepreneur's life.
